FRAXA Research Foundation Awards Funding to Jiyoun Lee’s Research

FRAXA Research Foundation has awarded funding to Jiyoun Lee’s project, “Systematic Identification of Molecular Mechanisms Underlying Fragile X Syndrome Cellular Phenotypes in Human Neurons and Brain Organoids.” This work aims to uncover key proteins driving neuronal and mitochondrial dysfunction in Fragile X syndrome, advancing our understanding of disease mechanisms and identifying potential therapeutic targets to benefit affected individuals and families.
Jiyoun has also been selected to join the Morse Society Scholars program, which will provide 50% stipend coverage for 3 years. As a part of this program, Jiyoun will attend cross-disciplinary monthly dinners to enhance her graduate training and career development.
