Research Description:

Research in my laboratory focuses on GABAA receptors, inhibitory synaptic transmission, mechanisms of anesthetic action, and memory. We use a variety of methods, including in vitro and in vivo electrophysiology, optogenetics, calcium imaging, and behavior to address molecular, cellular, and systemslevel questions. Our laboratory is particularly interested in understanding the specific roles that different types of inhibitory receptors and circuits play in drug responses, and how cells and circuits are altered in pathophysiological conditions.

Research Key Words:

Anesthesia, Hippocampal Function, Synaptic Inhibition, Memory
