Research Description:
My research program is centered on understanding the role of RNA control in pain. Despite widespread recognition of the critical role of de novo protein synthesis for pain–associated plasticity, the mechanisms that link perception of noxious cues, the translational apparatus, and the specificity of induced translation are unclear. To address this gap, we make extensive use of functional genomics, genetics, and pharmacology to examine mRNA control in sensory neurons.
