Research Description:

My interests lie in understanding the mechanisms underlying anxiety in non-human primates, with the hope of translating these findings into more effective and targeted treatments for anxiety and anxiety disorders in humans.  More specifically, I am interested in the regulatory role of the the orbitofrontal cortex in the expression of anxious temperament, combining lesion, multimodal imaging and gene expression analyses to understand neural mechanisms of anxiety.
